The Google map below lists all sorts of sites across the country that are releated to Scotland.
There are seven 'layers’ that you can switch on and off:
- Birthplaces of Scottish scientists
- Death places of the same
- Places where they are buried
- Houses they lived in
- Sites relating to Scotland’s Oil Shale boom.
- Other historical industrial sites related to chemistry: mines (but not coal mines), refineries, etc.
- Current significant sites relating to the chemical industry - This has been harder: there are dozens of small scale soap and cosmetic manufacturers and I have decided (so far) to leave these out.
