Membership Levels

We are now offering different levels to access our content. Existing memberships for people in various organisations across Scotland will not be affected. 

Anyone working in a School, College or Early Years Setting that is a member in Scotland should select "Normal" as the option. (All Local Authority organisations are members)

We have however, enhanced our offerings to allow greater access to both institutions and to individuals elsewhere in the world as well as in Scotland. Details of these can be found here.

However, for complicated reasons our memberships are not available to people in the rest of the UK (England, Wales and Northern Ireland)

We require all users to be pre-approved to access the content on this website. Enter your email address below to request access. Membership Level Normal

The "traditional" membership for schools and colleges (and many early years settings and other institutions) in Scotland. 

  • Only people working for institutions that are members can sign up. This includes all 32 local authorities and many others. If you are unsure, please get in touch.
  • All employees within that institution have access.
  • Membership allows unlimited access to all areas of the website as well as to our specialist advisors.
  • This includes free consultation and visits where required.
  • Members will also get discounted (and preferential) access to relevant SSERC Professional Learning.

Membership Level Third Sector

A sort of semi-corporate membership for smaller organisations like 3rd sector charities, social enterprises and voluntary organisations.

  • Accessible to smaller organisations.
  • All employees within that institution have access.
  • Membership allows unlimited access to all areas of the website as well as to our specialist advisors.
£250 Per year
Membership Level Corporate

For companies. As well as access to the website and advisors, they get a section on the website.

  • All employees within that institution have access.
  • Membership allows unlimited access to all areas of the website as well as to our specialist advisors.
  • Companies also get their own section on the SSERC website.
From £1000 Per year
Membership Level International

For international schools and colleges.

  • Only institutions can sign up.
  • All employees within that institution have access.
  • Basic membership ((£200) allows unlimited access to all areas of the website while the Enhanced membership gives access to our specialist advisors as well.
  • Members will also get discounted (and preferential) access to relevant SSERC Professional Learning - where accessible.

For users providing home education.

  • We will be creating a section of the website with resources to assist the teaching of STEM subjects at home.
  • Members will also have acces to our subject advisors.
  • Members will also get discounted (and preferential) access to relevant SSERC Professional Learning.

Membership Level Individual (Biology & Environmental Science)

Individual memberships are aimed at individual teachers outwith the UK. The pricing varies with geography, being lower for less wealthy countries.

Membership gives:

  • Unlimited access to the Biology/ES resources area of the website
  • Unlimited access to the Biology/ES Health and Safety area of the website
  • 50% discount on our Processional Learning courses.
  • Access as to our specialist advisors. (Additional cost)

Membership Level Individual (Chemistry)

Individual memberships are aimed at individual teachers outwith the UK. The pricing varies with geography, being lower for less wealthy countries.

Membership gives:

  • 50% discount on our Processional Learning courses.
