Below you will find some data from experiments carried out at SSERC to investigate the classic reaction between sodium thiosulphate solutions and hydrochloric acid. It is used to investigate the rate of reaction. When mixed, the reactions proceeds and produced colloidal sulphur which turns the solution opaque and the time is recorded before a cross or other mark below the container is obscured.
