Online Radiation Protection
This is a two-part online course for those who want to ensure they are working safely and staying on the right side of the law in the area of radioactivity. Sessions will take place between 4 – 5pm on consecutive Wednesdays.
Participants will log in to our ‘meet’ on the two afternoons when the course is run. They will watch a live presenter and interact via a chat pod.

Note the practical aspects of safe handling of radioactive sources and leak testing can only be covered via videos in this online course. If direct practical experience is required then one of our face-to-face courses should be attended.
Why Should You Attend?
Schools which hold radioactive sources must have a suitable supervisory member of staff designated to manage/supervise health and safety arrangements specifically for the radioactive sources held. This person must have had up-to-date training directly from SSERC (within the last 3-5 years), this online course will satisfy this training requirement.
Also, all members of staff must have had up-to-date training before working with radioactive sources, this can be provided in-house by the supervisory member of staff but as there are no limits on the number of people who can attend this online session whole departments are welcome to join us for their training. However, please ensure everyone applies separately.
