Iron in tea

A colorimetric method using the cormation of a red complex between Iron III and thiocyanate ions.

Hardness in water

A compleximetric titration to look at hardness in water caused bu calcium and magnesium ions.

Chloride in water

Using a microscale titration to determine the level of chloride in tea – using Volhard’s method with Fluorescein indicator rather than the more common Mohr’s method using potassium chromate – for environmental reasons.

Phosphate in water

A colorimetric method of determining phosphate by means of production of a blue molybdate complex.
