SSERC invites Science teachers to take part in this 1-day course focusing on practical activities to support Chemistry assignments at National 5 and Higher.
This course will focus on how to best support your learners, including practical activities around the themes of: –
- Rates of Reaction,
- Energy Changes
- Electrochemistry and Chemical Analysis.
There will also be time set aside for discussion around managing assignments and secondary sources.

The course will be held at SSERC, Dunfermline.

As this is a one-day course, no accommodation will be available.
The course will be held at SSERC in Dunfermline. Our SSERC buildings are at 2 Pitreavie Court, Dunfermline, KY11 8UU.
Car: SSERC is close to the end of the A823(M) spur off Junction 2 of the M90 motorway and there is plenty of parking. Car journey times (approximately): Edinburgh – 30 min; Glasgow – 60 min; Aberdeen – 2.5 hours; Inverness – 3 hours.
Public transport
SSERC is a short (5-10 minutes) walk from Rosyth railway station.
There are bus stops about 100m away with buses to and from Dunfermline every 10 minutes or so and the X52 bus from Edinburgh stops there every 30 minutes.
