SSERC are pleased to offer a new 1-day course to explore the use and application of the statistical programme, R. The session will consider three different types of investigations, that could be carried out at Advanced Higher Biology level and how the statistics package can be used to describe and analyse collected data and present the data appropriately. The use of R to construct different types of charts, including boxplots, will be explored and how R can be used to provide a measure of statistical significance or strength of correlation between variables. The course is particularly suited to practitioners who are delivering the AH Biology course in school but is targeted at teachers who are completely or relatively new to R.

The aim of the course is to show how simple using R can be but how much additional information pupils can gain from the data.

Course Dates: 4th May 2023

Closing Date: 24th March 2023
