Join us for a high-energy, interactive session designed to demystify the invisible world of microorganisms. Through a series of engaging, classroom-ready activities, we will explore how germs act as the catalysts for common illnesses and track the fascinating—and often messy—ways they spread. Participants will master key microbiological terminology and investigate practical, simple methods for infection prevention.
Key Investigations:
The Sneeze Zone: Mapping the surprising distance and velocity of a sneeze to visualize the transmission of droplets.
Mechanical Models: Step-by-step instructions to construct a functional "working cough" model to demonstrate droplet spread.
Defence Tactics: Testing and comparing the most effective methods to halt the spread of germs in a school environment.
