The classic demonstration to show an exothermic reaction and the energy in fuels.
A small amount of ethanol (or other fuel – see instructions) is swirled in a 15l water container. Excess ethanol is poured off and the vapour/air mixture is lit.
It burns rapidly with a satisfying ‘whoosh’.
