The Young STEM Leader (YSL) program is new national programme designed to stimulate and strengthen the development of peer mentoring and inspiration in STEM for young people by young people. It has been designed to address a series of challenges in STEM education in Scotland as set out in the Scottish Government’s STEM Strategy for Education and Training (2017).

The partnership (led by SSERC) is looking for an organisation with a proven track record of, and expertise in, the analysis of educational initiatives to carry out an independent and external evaluation of the programme at both interim and end stages. It is essential that the evaluation yields a range of complex and detailed findings to fully explore the impact the programme makes.
