We are delighted to have two key note speakers at the 2019 SSERC Annual Conference. Our second speaker is Howie Firth, Director, Orkney Science Festival. Howie Firth is a scientist, writer and broadcaster who was director of the first Edinburgh Science Festival in 1989, providing the city’s concept of a science festival with a format that has subsequently spread to many other countries. He went on to advise and assist with science festivals elsewhere, particularly his native islands in the north, where Orkney International Science Festival attracts speakers and audiences from across the UK and overseas. We not join us at the Annual Conference and hear what Howie has to say and also make the most of the networking opportunities as well as signing up for one of the workshop sessions that are a popular feature of the SSERC Annual Conference.
