This session is designed to offer attendees hands on experience to free block based coding languages and will demonstrate how to incorporate computing concepts throughout the primary curriculum and enhance pupils’ progress in a range of subjects. We will explore a range of different activities using the Scratch programming language to develop computational thinking skills.

The aim of the session is to look at how different features of Scratch can be used to develop computational thinking principles. We will explore the extra add in features to explore augmented reality, Microbit and MaKey MaKey integration, translation tools and text to speech.
The course will be held at SSERC in Dunfermline. Our SSERC buildings are at 2 Pitreavie Court, Dunfermline, KY11 8UU. SSERC is a short (5-10 minutes) walk from Rosyth railway station and close to the end of the A823(M) spur off Junction 2 of the M90 motorway. Car journey times (approximately): Edinburgh – 30 min; Glasgow – 60 min; Aberdeen – 2.5 hours; Inverness – 3 hours.
