The aim of the session is to look at ways that GSuite for Education can be used to support and extend learning in the classroom. We will explore the core apps available through Glow to discover how they can be used to promote collaboration, creativity and provide timely and focussed feedback. We will look at the Google Classroom, Doc, Sheets, Slides and Sites as well as how GSuite log ins can open the door to learning through a number of other programmes.

Rationale

We will cover an overview of relevant apps and discuss how these can be used at any age and stage across the curriculum. The course will cover setting up Google Classroom, managing Google Drive, creating interactive lessons using Docs, Sheets and Slides and creating self marking Forms for formative assessment.

The course will be held at SSERC in Dunfermline. Our SSERC buildings are at 2 Pitreavie Court, Dunfermline, KY11 8UU. SSERC is a short (5-10 minutes) walk from Rosyth railway station and close to the end of the A823(M) spur off Junction 2 of the M90 motorway. Car journey times (approximately): Edinburgh – 30 min; Glasgow – 60 min; Aberdeen – 2.5 hours; Inverness – 3 hours.
