Welcome to Techne - the digital platform that provides an opportunity for professional dialogue and debate between school technicians across the  length and breadth of Scotland.     I hope that you will use this platform to share best practice, ideas and advice, as well as seek the support and advice from others to help with challenges, questions and issues.    Remember also that SSERC colleagues are here to  help  and also provide  ongoing support and advice.

It is my aim to continue to support  the cause of school technicians in Scotland.  You have a critical role to play in ensuring that safe and appropriate STEM based practical activities remain to be a key part of the Scottish curriculum.

I have recently written to all Head Teachers in Scotland, to all Local Authority Education Officers and Heads of Education, SLS, SCIS and ADES, outlining the reasons as to why school technicians have such an important role to play  supporting Scottish education.  A copy of this letter is attached to this post.

I look forward to viewing (and participating) in the discussions and dialogue that might take place on this forum.

Hi, are there any other posts or topics on this forum, or is it just not working for me? I see 79 posts at the bottom but none on my screen. Thanks.

Hi Shona,

The statistics you saw at the bottom of the page are for other forums contained on our website. The Techne forum has only just started so there are only a couple of posts to date.
